Crew requirements

Who qualifies

Four things SPRIND is looking for. If you clear these, the application is worth your time — and we will tell you honestly if you do not.

You build robots, or the parts that make them work

Either an integrated robotic system (Track 1) or a breakthrough hardware component — grippers, sensors, joints (Track 2).

You are a European team

SPRIND funds teams and companies across Europe, Switzerland included. You do not need to be based in Germany.

Your technology is beyond the state of the art

This is a breakthrough challenge, not a subsidy. The bar is a genuine step change in what a robot can do — not an incremental improvement.

You can commit to the full challenge

Four stages over 36 months, starting with a submission by 22 October 2026.

SPRIND’s published criteria are the ones that count — read them on the official call page. Not sure whether you fit? Ask us — a five-minute answer beats a wasted month.

The call at a glance

Up to €7.2M per team

An individual fixed-price contract based on your own cost estimate, across the full challenge.

100% non-dilutive

No equity, no convertible strings attached. You keep your cap table clean.

No co-financing

No matching funds required — SPRIND funds the work, kein Cofinancing.

Deadline: 22 Oct 2026

Applications close 22 October 2026, 18:00 CEST. A four-stage, 36-month challenge follows.

Two tracks — where do you fit?

Track 1 · Integrated Platforms

Fully integrated, modular, multi-purpose robotic systems — hardware, sensors and software combined for autonomous execution of complex physical tasks in logistics, care support or construction.

Track 2 · Hardware Components

Novel robotic hardware — grippers, sensors, joints and other components — with breakthrough performance beyond the current state of the art.

The free review caught the exact impact gap our first draft would have been killed on. Cynthia’s coaching sharpened the case, and we won an Innosuisse SIP — fixed before submitting instead of after a rejection.
